The “Bill of Costs” report provides a list of billed and unbilled disbursements entered on a client/matter. This report may be a crucial document for assessing and potentially recovering costs from the opposing party in a matter.
The report includes the following information:
- Client Number
- Date
- Reference
- Code
- Description
- Amount
- GST/HST
- Billed
To print report:
- Click on Reports
- Select the Bill of Costs report
- Transactions From - Select the date range for transactions to include on the report.
Note:
- Default range is 01/01/1980 to current date. The From date is critical and must be before any data has been entered that may affect the report as opening balances will not be included.
4. Client/Matter - Select the clients/matter to add to the report
5. Output method - Select “View” to display the report on your screen, “Export to CSV” to export the report or “Print” to print the report.
The report includes the information in two formats.
- Bill of Costs:

- Includes the details for each transaction including the Date, Reference, Description, Amount, Taxes and an identifier * that the disbursement is Billed. A total is provided for each code and then the Client total at the end.
- The Client Bill of Costs Summary Page:
- Provides a single line item for each Disbursement Code with the code description, sum value and taxes. A Client total is at the bottom.
Note:
The report can be exported to Excel or PDF from the “View” screen.

Tip:
- Select memorize to add the report with the current options to the memorized reports. Report can only be added once to the memorized reports.
