      How to switch between single-user and multi-user mode in Unity® Accounting

      In this guide, we will walk you through the process of switching between single-user and multi-user modes in Unity® Accounting.

      Important

      Single-user mode is intended for making changes to your system settings within Unity® Accounting. For day-to-day tasks and operations, it is recommended to be in multi-user mode.

      Switching from multi-user mode to single-user mode:

      Steps:

      1. In Unity® Accounting, click on File > Switch to Single-User Mode.
      2. Click OK on the prompt that appears.
      3. You are now in single-user mode.

      Typically, administrators utilize single-user mode to carry out specific tasks. For instance, you might need to restrict all users from accessing Unity® Accounting to close your financial year.

      Additionally, certain sections of the software, such as the Maintenance menu, can only be accessed in single-user mode. This security measure guarantees that new global settings are applied uniformly to all users before they can enter new data.

      Tip: It is recommended that you close your financial year in a single-user mode to ensure that no transactions are entered for the previous fiscal year.

      Switching from single-user mode to multi-user mode:

      Steps:

      1. In Unity® Accounting, click on File > Switch to Multi-User Mode.
      2. Click OK on the prompt that appears.
      3. You are now in multi-user mode.

      Tip: Ensure that you primarily operate in multi-user mode and switch to single-user mode only when prompted or when you need to modify your Unity® Accounting settings.
