This step should be followed if the setup file does not run when attempting to download a new version of Unity® Accounting. Please ensure proper backups are in place according to your company policy.
THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS LIKELY REQUIRE IT SUPPORT.
Step 1: Uninstall and reinstall Unity® Accounting
- On a PC, click on the Windows home button, which should be in the bottom left corner.
- Type the words “Control Panel” (then hit enter or click on “Control Panel”).
- Select Programs & Features (or first Programs and then Programs & Features).
- Highlight Unity® Accounting and double-click it for a popup to appear. The popup will ask you to confirm that you want to uninstall Unity® Accounting. Select “yes”. It may ask if you want to restore the previous version or uninstall it completely. Please select “Remove the application from this computer”.
- Open File Explorer
- Go to C:\Users\”ESILAWUserProfileName”\AppData\Roaming
- Delete the esiLaw folder
- Go to C:\Users\”ESILAWUserProfileName”\AppData\Local delete
- Delete the esiLaw folder
- Go to C:\Users\”ESILAWUserProfileName”\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0
- Search for any esiLaw reference and delete all references and folders
- Attempt the download again.
If you are still having issues and esiLaw will still not run, here are some additional options:
Further troubleshooting 1: Unblock the setup file
Unblock setup.exe in the download folder, then you should be able to launch setup.exe
Further troubleshooting 2: Unblock ESILaw.exe
- Open File Explorer
- Go to C:\Users\”ESILAWUserProfileName”\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0” and search for the “esil..tion” in the folder
- Click on the folder and right-click on ESILAW.exe
- In the General section of the ESILAW.exe Properties, unblock ESILAW.exe
- You will then be able to launch ESILAW.exe
